Disrupt Action Days – Report October 10th

We at Gemeinsam gegen die Tierindustrie are currently participating in the Disrupt Action Days, which are taking place in Bremen from October 8-13.

Friday was marked by a variety of actions: for over eight hours, around 70 activists blocked the Könecke meat factory in Delmenhorst, which belongs to Tönnies, and disrupted the destructive system of the animal industry.

At the same time, another 100 activists blocked the J. Müller shipping company in Bremen. J. Müller imports millions of tons of animal feed from Central and South America every year, making huge profits. Animal feed imports are responsible for land grabbing and the disenfranchisement of indigenous peoples, as well as the destruction of local ecosystems.

There was also a bike tour from Bremen to Brake, followed by a harbor tour of the huge feed terminals to draw attention to the destructive consequences of the feed industry.

A really successful day for us! We highlighted where the food system needs to change and discussed together what this change could look like.

And today we continue: at 12:30 p.m. we will meet at the main train station for a large alliance demonstration: for a better agricultural system, for fairer nutrition, for good and healthy food for EVERYONE, and not for the profit of a few.

We demand: a solidarity-based food transition and the abolition of the animal industry!
